Welcome to SEP

Welcome to the Summer Enrichment Program! We are so excited to be interning for SEP this summer. We will be running the SEP blog this summer and will be updating it with fun and exciting activities happening at SEP each session. We will be observing classes (and field trips) and taking photos of student activities and projects. Throughout each session we will be featuring as many classes as possible.

My name is Nicole Breer and I am a graduate student at the University of Virginia. I am completing my Masters in Teaching in Elementary Education. Prior to UVA, I attend the University of California, Berkeley where I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology along with minors in Education and LGBT Studies. I worked with the SEP Saturday program but this will be my first summer. I am very excited to observe classes and see all the fun and exciting things students will be learning and creating!

My name is Olivia Elwell, and I am a Graduate Student at the University of Virginia. I will be receiving my Masters of Teaching in Elementary Education next spring. Before attending UVA, I graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor's of Art in Sociology. This is my first summer at SEP. I am looking forward to seeing all of the fun projects and activities that students will be competing throughout the summer!

Hi! My name is Abby Jordan. In December I will be graduating from UVA with my Bachelors in Religious Studies and a Masters in Teaching K-12 Special Education. I am also earning my endorsement to teach gifted students. This is my first summer at SEP and I don't think I could be anymore excited! I wish that I had the opportunity to attend SEP as a student. The part of SEP that I am most excited for is to see students be challenged and problem solve across a multitude of disciplines. 

We decided to decorate the office in a Jungle theme this year and have been busy decorating the lobby! Session 1 was a blast and we are so excited for the start of session 2!. Moving forward, we will be posting two separate blog posts for 5-8 and 9-11 detailing the activities students are doing in each age group.
