Each day, we will feature several courses. Throughout the session, we will feature as many courses as possible.

Students in "Electric and Autonomous Vehicles" explored the difference between electric and gas cars in terms of emissions. Students learned that gasoline cars emit 57 metric tons of emission over their lifetime and electric-battery cars emit 28 metric tons. Students also learned that it is important to consider lifetime emissions including the energy used to make the car, transport gasoline, etc. The video below served as a jumping off point for this discussion, check it out!

Today in, "Engineering Hogwarts" students worked in groups to redesign Hogwarts for the modern witch/wizard. Students thought about the needs of a modern witch/wizard and how to incorporate these needs into their design. Groups then presented their designs to their classmates and received feedback on their designs.

Students also worked in groups to begin thinking about their final project. In their final project, they will be asked to produce a science-fiction movie or book. Many scei-fiction novels and movies take place in fantastical and unearthly settings. Today, students were asked to think about the setting for their movie and encouraged to get creative!

Best,

Nicole, Olivia, and Abby
